Thanks for that article. that’s exactly the info i needed. now i shall go and wrap my potatoes… They are currently on the veranda, not dark and not dry… oh may, here’s trouble.. …better go fix it right away now i know HOW.

Thanks for reading. I store winter squash and potatoes in the basement on a single layer. They seems to last, though you do have to check (look for soft spots). I had an acorn squash go bad on me the other day.

Thanks for the link to this book—I’m going to find it at my library asap. I got a winter CSA this year and it’s far more winter veggies than I’m used to getting at once. I’m thinking maybe stackable plastic crates in the basement might be a good way to go for a lot of them; that way they’d be separated into single layers and get decent ventilation. What do you think?
