This open-faced sandwich is one of my favorites at Sammy T’s in Fredericksburg, VA.</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong><br />
4-slices of hearty whole grain bread<br />
1 tart apple, sliced into medium thin slices<br />
4 slices of extra shard cheddar cheese<br />
Spicy mustard<br />
1 Tablespoon roasted sunflower seeds</p>
<p><strong>Method:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Preheat oven to 400º F</li>
<li>Spread mustard on bread.</li>
<li>Sprinkle with sunflower seeds, top with apple slices and cheddar cheese.</li>
<li>Place in oven and cook until cheese melts.</li>
</ul>
<p>Makes two open-faced sandwiches.</p>
